How I got to translating medical texts…

First there was my passion for precise wording that I developed as a Latin student at grammar school. Later I fell in love with Britain (and, I admit, in Britain too) and the English language. Medicine also became a major interest, so I became a physician. Through scientific editing and medical journalism I got to professional information research. Now, I am bringing all these interests together.

…my spark of inspiration:

It is hard to find a good translator of medical texts. I became aware of this while working as a professionally researching editor for a German scientific medical journal. Each month the editorial staff had one of the latest articles translated into English – mostly with poor results. I found that most of the mistakes and inaccuracies resulted from inadequate research into the subject matter of the text!
